Registration Required

Payment for each class is due in full at the time of registration. Classes may not be taken on a pay as you go basis. Class payments by check or money order should be made payable to Cobb Senior Services. Telephone and mail in registrations cannot be accepted.  All class and supply fees must be paid at the time of registration.  Please take note of class meeting times, some classes may have pre-designated breaks.

Cancellation Policy

Class cancellation for registered Seniors will be accepted prior to the class start date.  Cancellations made after this period may or may not be entitled to a full refund, and will be decided on an individual basis.  Any supply fees paid, may not be refunded.  Classes that are not held on a regular class meeting date due to inclement weather, holiday schedules, or instructor illness will be made up. 


Monday

Monday Flexibility

Instructor: Pat Palocsik

9:15 – 10:15 a.m.

October 5 – December 7

Cost: $30.00 Cobb residents; $35 Non-residents

This class is designed as a low-impact stretching class to improve flexibility, movement and strength.

 

Senior Exercise

10:30 – 11:00 a.m.

October 5 – December 7

Cost: Free

This exercise/aerobics class is conducted by video tape.

 

Strength Training

Instructor: Center Staff

11:00am-12:00p.m.

Cost: $30 Cobb residents; $35 Non-residents

October 5 – December 7

This class utilizes exercises that target the whole body, including the upper, lower, and abdominal areas. It focuses on building and toning muscle groups. What a fun way to get in shape!

 

Tai Chi I

Instructor: Kalila King

1:00 – 2:00 p.m.

Cost:$20 Cobb residents; $25 Non-residents

October 5 – November 23

This ancient form of Chinese exercise is designed to help you feel energized, balanced and more flexible. This class is designed for the beginner.

 

Tuesday

Yoga II

Instructor: Ann Olsen

11:00a.m.-12:00p.m.

Cost:  $20 Cobb residents;  $25 Non-residents

October 6-November 24

Yoga is a body friendly personal practice that can be modified or fully expressed to move at your own pace. These gentle stretches increase your range of motion, flexibility, balance, and strength. Yoga mat required.

Beginning Line Dance

Instructor: Sylvia Irving

3:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Cost: $30 Cobb residents;  $35Non-residents

October 6 – December 8

Put some spring in your step. Come join our beginning line dance class where you will learn all the boot-scooting country line dances, maybe even the electric slide and some oldies like the stroll.

Focus on Fitness

Instructor: Rio Rita Arthurs

11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.

Cost: Free

October 6 – December 8

This is an exercise class that utilizes chair aerobics as an alternative to floor exercise. This instructor led-class uses Thera-Bands, some walking and stretching.

Wednesday

This exercise/aerobics class is conducted by video tape.

Asian Mah Jong

Instructor: Alice Hom and Yoke Loo

1:00 – 4:00 pm
Cost: Free

October 7 – November 11

This class teaches you the fundamentals of Asian Mah Jong. Join us to learn how to play this fun game! No card required.

 

Intermediate Tap Dance
Instructor: Barbara Hughes

10:30am-11:30am

October 7 – December 23 (No class Oct 21 & 28)

Cost: $30 Cobb residents; $35 Non-residents
This tap class is an upbeat dance class that is sure to get your toes tapping!

Tai Chi II

Thursday

Golden Zumba

Instructors: Stacy Arthurs

9:45a.m.-10:45a.m.

October 8 – December 17 (No class Nov 26)

Cost: $30 Cobb residents; $35 Non-residents

Zumba combines Latin rhythms with cardiovascular exercise to create a low impact aerobic routine that is fun and easy to follow. It combines high energy and motivating music with unique body sculpting movements that allow the participants to dance their way to better fitness. Exercising has never been more fun!

Yoga Light

Cost: $45 Cobb residents; $50 Non-residents

Learn to paint with acrylics and oils. This class is designed for beginners as well as those who have painted before. Supply list available at ECSC front desk.
